Welcome to olivenhain Town Center

Olivenhain Town Center is an old world village
within the Colony of Olivenhain inspired by the rich history of this community.

The Colony Olivenhain (oh-LEE-ven-hine) began its land development in 1884 when German settlers collectively agreed to colonize this area within the current day City of Encinitas.  To this day, the Colony of Olivenhain maintains a rich sense of preservation and embraces its historic legacy.

Olivenhain Town Center has been designed with an historic perspective and will enhance the neighborhood’s civic and entertainment opportunities.  Here is what you can experience when visiting the grounds of Olivenhain Town Center:
   • Cafés, restaurants, shopping and residences with a small town feel
   • Building design with an old world flavor
   • Walkable streets with textured pathways
   • Vibrant landscaping, surrounded by mature trees
   • Soothing fountains
   • Fragrant flower gardens
   • Unique water wheel feature and signage
   • Trailheads with connectivity to area trails
   • A two-horse corral for equestrian activity

Plans for the 8.44 acre Olivenhain Town Center village include:
   • 6,000 square feet of restaurant and commercial space in three buildings
   • 25,600 square feet of retail shops and office space in four buildings
   • 13 single family homes will buffer the north and west project perimeter
   • Five single-family loft-style residents over retail shops and office space

This unique plan will only increase the adjacent commercial area by 11.7%.

The design team is well aware of the surrounding traffic issues on Rancho Santa Fe Road and Encinitas Boulevard, and incorporation of the project into the location includes a well-designed, permanent improvement plan that will address the current traffic challenges.  The “Road Improvements” and “Traffic Impact Analysis Report” which outline this plan in greater detail can be found by clicking on the links above.

Olivenhain Town Center will be updating this website with approved plans as the village planning moves forward through the City process.  We invite you to contact us with questions or comments, concerns and praises.
